Accessibility statement
Accessibility
Built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
The format, date, divisions and registration are meant to work with a keyboard, with a screen reader, and with motion turned off.
Keyboard
Every control works with a keyboard: navigation, the menu, the registration links, the lap-time buttons, the map controls, the question search and accordions, and the bell. The opening bell sequence can be skipped with any key or its Skip button. A skip link goes straight to the main content. Focus is always visible, and sticky elements reserve space so they never cover the focused control.
Screen readers
Pages use landmarks and one heading hierarchy. The exact date, hours, location, and format are normal text, not only graphics. The thirty-six-bell sequence has a text summary, and its loop marks are hidden from assistive technology rather than read out one by one. The countdown is not a live region. Live announcements are limited to the rest calculation and search-result counts.
Motion
With "reduce motion" turned on in your system settings, the opening bell sequence does not play, the loop is drawn from the start, and all thirty-six bell marks are shown immediately. There is no route drawing, no bell pulse, no parallax, and no scroll-linked animation. Every piece of information and every action is still there.
Audio
Sound never starts on its own. The bell plays only when you press "Hear the bell", and the same button stops it. The visual pulse gives the equivalent moment without sound.
Touch and zoom
Controls are at least 44 pixels tall. Nothing requires dragging. The layout reflows at 320 pixels wide and at 200 percent zoom.
Third-party pages
- Registration and payment run on RunSignup, a third-party site this site does not control.
- The optional live map is a third-party embed whose accessibility is outside this site's control; the drawn map and the text describe the location without it.
